Coach Profiles
Head Coach Samir Dahman
Coach Samir is excited to return for his 4th season as head coach of the Bantam Bears. He grew up playing hockey in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In high school, he tended goal for four years at the varsity level, and ultimately, was a semi-finalist goalie for Team Michigan. From there, Samir earned his bachelors degree in economics from the University of Michigan, worked (and coached in-line hockey) in Taiwan for two years, and then earned his law degree from the Ohio State University. Currently, Samir practices business litigation and employment law at Thompson Hine LLP. He enjoys spending time with his fiancée Amalee, playing hockey, and anything that has to do with being on the water.

Coach John Osinski
Coach Osinski is enjoying his first season involved with the Bantam Bears. Growing up in Bowling Green, Ohio, John played hockey in the Bowling Green Youth Hockey program from age 6. John moved to Columbus after graduating from St. John’s Jesuit High School in 2002. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2006, John began teaching mathematics at Jones Middle School, where he also coaches soccer and track. Coach Osinski stays personally involved with hockey through his participation in the Columbus Adult Hockey League through the Chiller and enjoys running and listening to music.
Coach Alex West
Coach Alex is currently attending Upper Arlington High School and playing on the varsity team as a goalie. He has been playing hockey since he was in 4th grade. This year is his first year as a coach as a part of the Upper Arlington Bantam program, and he is enjoying the experience and the great time.

Coach Jeff Sherman
Coach Jeff Sherman was born and raised in Michigan where he developed his love for the game of hockey. Jeff learned the game on the pond as a youth. Jeff moved to Columbus in 1988 to obtain his Engineering degree from DeVry University. Meeting his wife, Lynda, in 1995, he chose to make Columbus his permanent home. Jeff and Lynda share the love for the game as Lynda obtained her coaching certificate with Jeff in 2007. Jeff and Lynda share their home with a Dalmatian dog, Guinevere, cat, Lizzy, and two fish, Tate and Johan. In the off season they enjoy the great outdoors while camping and Jet skiing around the lake. Jeff met both Coach Samir and Coach Pete playing adult league hockey. Jeff enjoys coaching for Upper Arlington. GO BLUE! and GO BEARS!
